The problem
TECO, one of Asia's largest motor manufacturers, builds motors that ship into pumps, fans, and conveyors worldwide. Its customers wanted built-in temperature monitoring — but existing thermocouple solutions were too bulky to integrate into the motor housing and too complex for the end customer to wire up in the field.
What was installed
Thermalpas TS-300 — a thin PT100 Class B sensor (–30 to 150°C, ±0.5°C, ASTM D-3654 adhesion certified) — was designed to be factory-mounted on the motor heat sink. After validating it in its own lab, TECO signed a Supplier Master Agreement and made Thermalpas a standard option in its motor catalog; every motor shipped with the option has the sensor pre-installed.
The outcome
From 2016 to 2026, Thermalpas has been a standard TECO motor option. Because every shipped motor can carry a sensor, it is the clearest example of scale through an OEM channel: one relationship, thousands of factory-installed sensors.
